Setting foot on Vietnamese soil with
enthusiasm and perhaps with some friends, travelers start a memorable and
interesting voyage to discover this beautiful and diversified-culture country.
From the Red River Delta in the North with ancient and modern Hanoi Capital,
the Mekong Delta in the South with the most animated Ho Chi Minh City and also
the world heritages along the long coastal Central, all could make visitors
amazed and deeply impressed.
Visitors
could find nowhere else in this world such a peaceful and green country that is
still preserving traditional values, relics of wars but is also recognized as
one of the most dynamic and safe destinations. Friendly smiles could be seen on
every faces; fresh air and green trees everywhere and every corner could be a
unique tourist attraction.
Many
people come to Vietnam just to enjoy tranquil days by living together with
local families in green and peaceful villages; work and sing and laugh with
friendly local people keep visitors relaxed all day long in very simple
happiness. Other people try to penetrate the history and culture of Vietnam by
roaming from the north to the south, the rural to urban areas, from natural to
cultural heritages and some people find their own reasons to stay longer or
even to be residents here.
Lots
of foreign veterans, who had joined the wars in Vietnam, came back after many
years, sometimes with their friends or relatives, just to stand silently in
demilitarized zones and recall the days they were soldiers in Vietnam. Most of
them consider their trip back to Vietnam the best way to have peace of mind
after several years and also a bridge between their past and present.
People
have different reasons to visit Vietnam and the things they experience here are
the main reasons for them to make returning and returning trips…

When to Go
There
are no good or bad seasons to visit Vietnam. When one region is wet, cold or
steamy hot, there is always somewhere else that is sunny and pleasant.
Basically, the south has two seasons: the wet (May to November, wettest from
June to August) and the dry (December to April). The hottest and most humid
time is from the end of February to May. The central coast is dry from May to
October and wet from December to February. The highland areas are significantly
cooler than the lowlands, and temperatures can get down to freezing in winter.
The north has two seasons: cool, damp winters (November to April) and hot
summers (May to October). There is the possibility of typhoons between July and
November, affecting the north and central areas.
Travellers
should take the Tet New Year festival (late January or early February) into
account when planning a trip. Travel (including international travel) becomes
very difficult, hotels are full and many services close down for at least a
week and possibly a lot longer.
